Geoffrey needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Geoffrey is a very lovable dog. Whenever we are outside he will come up and stand right beside you. He loves to be petted and massaged. He is absolutely quiet. I thought about just calling him Prancer because he does this neat little prancey dance with his front legs. He loves treats. He does not play with any toys. He has never ever got the least bit upset. He is very even tempered, friendly and does get along really well with other dogs. He really is a very nice boy and would probably fit in almost anywhere, at least from what I have observed. He will walk pretty well on a leash also.

This sweet senior came from a hoarder's home and was so severely matted, we had to shave him down.. but he's coming around so nicely.. He navigates the yard and house with no problems at all, the only time his poor eyesight is apparent is when he gets in very close spaces. He goes into his crate willingly, sometimes even when the door is open, and is calm and quiet all the time while in there. He even waits patiently for me to open his door each morning. He keeps his crate clean and dry, and does his business promptly when he goes out.  He is protective of his food, just growling when another dog comes near, not with people. We do feed him by himself because sometimes he likes a leisurely meal. He is quite frightened of thunder and reacts even to rain, but the Thunder shirt, petting and a calm voice soothe him down well. I’m not a dog trainer  but he has demonstrated a quick learning ability anyway. When he first came he would charge through a door as soon as it was cracked open. Hand signals and “stay” started to work almost immediately. Now without any commands or signals, he will always stop and wait until he is invited to come through the door.  He is thriving and reacting very well in a home environment. He loves attention but is not demanding or bothersome.
