Hunny needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

Please Note: This animal is listed as a courtesy to another organization. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker for more information about him.

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Hunny's people thought he was a throw away dog as he got older, so they did...throw him away, that is. Poor Hunny had done nothing wrong, but get older. He was always a good boy, still is, just a bit slower. He still likes walks, playing, but sometimes, on those colder, or rainly days, he's a bit stiff. We know just how he feels! If you like older dogs, who know already how to be good dogs and how to love, Hunny is for you. Here is what his foster has to say about him...

Hunny is a SUPER sweet dog. He will shadow his forever owners. He lies outside the bathroom if I'm showering or getting ready for work. He sleeps all day while I'm gone on his bed near the front window where he can watch the world go by.  From day 1 I left him un-crated with no issue. He loves walks. He loves people & saying hi to neighbors when we go on walks, receiving pets and giving kisses.  He is good with other dogs, he rides well in the car and prefers the back seat with the windows open.
A SPECIAL NOTE FROM HIS FOSTER:  He loves to go for walks & can go up & down stairs but cannot jump up (stairs or sofa) without just landing flat on his tummy or on his back. . He is really sweet & gets along well with the other dogs. He will only eat canned food. He is a sweet-natured old guy, good with other dogs & cats. He is not at all aggressive - more on the timid side. He is housebroken for the most part. If he is left too long during the day without being left out outside he may have an accident. He doesn't bark to go out but will start pacing around the room. He is fine overnight in the family room. He hates to be confined in a room alone .
