All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

VERY BIG DOG DUKE! Happy, healthy Duke has all the good characteristics of a GREAT Dane. Legs that go from here to the sky, sturdy body, and an outgoing personality. He really enjoys playing with other dogs, is just fine with cats, and, would you believe it..even likes rabbits! Duke would like to bound around your yard, spreading his complete joy at being alive in each new day. Very thin, from not being fed very well so far in his life, he needs to pack on some pounds, but that won't be hard. Just good food in his bowl will do it. Oh, and he LOVES to literally eat out of your hand, so training him should be a breeze with treats. Imagine yourself going for a walk with Duke striding along side you like the king of the county. Think of his wonderful play bow to you in the backyard signalling the start of a good time for all. So very young, he has just now had his first birthday. He has his whole life and love to give to you.

SPECIAL NOTE FROM HIS CAREGIVER: He is a gentle soul and seems fine with all dogs and with cats. Duke is very calm and regal : ) He rode perfectly in the car, walked nicely around the neighborhood, and only pulled a tiny bit when he saw another dog-but I just called him back and he listened. I left him in the car while I set up his bed, and he was fine, even when people walked by the car. He went to the bathroom outside, and came in and laid right down on his bed. ).  He wags his tail when people walk by the yard, which is nice : ) We love this dog! He is housetrained, he walks well on a leash, he is great with other dogs, he is sweet and affectionate, and he loves children. A group of children walked by our fence, and he was thrilled to see them. He trotted along beside them, wagging his tail. Children also love Duke-the school bus stops in front of our house and the children look for him each morning when he goes outside to go to the bathroom. Although Duke is a large dog, he is calm and well-mannered inside the house. He does like to play once he's outside, and has bursts of energy where he runs and plays, goes back to walking and sniffing, and then runs and plays again. Duke is looking for his forever home, and he would make a wonderful addition to your family : )
