Sparky needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Cute and adorable, smart little Sparky has that long doxie body and the super short legs. He also has the long nose and expressive doxie eyes. Then there are those ears...SO big, so tall, and carried out to the side like airplane wings. Really, wouldn't he make you giggle every day! But wait, there's more! When he runs on those tiny legs, he goes a mile a minute, so fast they can actually blur while you watch, and those ears, well, they flap like propellers. Can you see him racing around in your backyard? He is also good at finding the most comfortable place in the house , especially the warmest place, and curling up there in a small ball. He is fine with some other dogs, but not cats, and such a loveable little fellow, we know you are going to want to take him right home.

Sparky has fears of people that he does not know entering his home. He will need someone to help him overcome his fears and not put him in situations that will set him up to fail. He needs a quiet home and a new family that will be willing to make his interactions positive and follow the guidance of our trainer. He does have one bite history that will be fully discussed at time of application and for that reason he will not be placed in a home with children under 14.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER:  He would do best with a larger submissive dog, no small dogs or dogs that don't like other dogs in their face, or only dog in the home.  He is extremely food motivated.  A sturdy fence is required for him so he can play safely. We have found him to be sweet and loving and he likes to sleep with his person. Just remember, with all the love he is giving, he can be a little thief. When you are eating, he is watching. If you leave your sandwich for a moment to answer the door, it will most definitely not be there when you come back.
