Turner needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Turner began his young life by seeing the very worst of human behavior. His leg was badly broken and nobody ever bothered to fix it. It began to twist, became infected, and then the nerve damage set in. Poor , sweet Turner was in constant pain. And there was nobody there to comfort him or even to care. He was found abandoned and at long last, a kind human came forward and took him in. As a rescue, we did everything we could to try and save his leg, and you can see some of our attempts in the pictures here on his page. But there was always the pain. Even in his darkest moments, Turner would try and play, try to run, try so hard to chase his ball. His natural temperament is happy, loving, sweet. The vet told us that without the leg, which by now we understood we could not heal, his pain would become only a memory. So now he is offically a tripod, missing his front left leg. Please take a look at the picture of him in the car, leaving the vet after his amputation. You can see the relief in his face, even with the stitches still in. For the first time in a very long time, he was free of that throbbing dagger that was his leg. Everywhere he has gone, from his foster home, to the entire staff at the vet's office, he has made friends. Everyone in rescue loves him for his spirit to live, to play, to love life. His gentle, playful, loving outlook has made him a rock star in rescue. Everyone wants to meet him and to feel his joyfulness. But what he wants more than anything in this world is to have his very own family to love. Wait until you see him! He can go on walks, as far as you want to go. He can run again and play with his precious ball. His tail wags whenever he meets anyone, but his heart longs for that special person or family. Maybe you are the one he is waiting for?
A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: "Turner is a great spirited young boy. He's going to be an amazing dog.  He is such a love! He's very very loving and playful."

Special Needs: Turner is a tripod, having lost a leg to breakage and infection, but he doesn't let it slow him down at all. He plays with his ball and runs just like a puppy.
