Smokey needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Smokey is a great guy with a truly gentle temperament. He has an easy going outlook on life. His foster says "He is a sweet, friendly boy who has been good with kids, other dogs, and cats. During his cat test, he touched noses with a cat who hissed at him, and he was fine." If you love the wisdom and good nature of a nicely socialized dog, you will find all of that in Smokey. He is all about easy walks, being petted and enjoying the company of his people. He has a shepherd look to him, but his body is long, low, with shorter legs. He is a perfect companion dog.
