Niles is one of those sweet, shy, small dogs who doesn't like to put himself forward, or in your face. He hopes you will love him for himself. He was rescued from a hoarding situation and is very used to being around many other dogs and cats. He would be most comfortable with another dog in the family to look toward. He loves being around a more confident dog and will watch that dog, so he knows what to do next. "Is that Vacuum Monster safe? It won't eat me? OK, I feel better now." He is happy to play with other dogs and reads "dog language" well. If you are hoping for a friend for a current canine, this would be a perfect situation and choice. Niles is a wonderful little guy and is amazed when he gets attention from humans, something he has had very little of in his lifetime.

Since Niles is a big timid a fenced yard is required to adopt him. He also will bark if crated so if he needs to be separated as he settles in, he needs an area with a gate.
