All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Sage is a young dog who surely lives up to her name. She is full of joy and will bring happiness to anyone lucky enough to have her in their lives forever and always. She likes her walks. She is a typical hound, loves to sniff all of her surroundings. She is quite strong for her size. She takes a little time to warm up to strangers when on leash.  Sage is still working on perfecting her leash walking, and still pulls on walks even when wearing a harness. She gently takes treats, knows basic commands like sit and paw. She is moderate energy. Would not recommend smaller children because sometimes she gets a little excited and jumps, but easily redirected.

She is too interested in cats so none of those friends for her. She also has never learned how to meet other dogs properly and becomes nervous and tense when a dog approaches. With time and patience we hope she will learn to trust other dogs and have doggy friends.

Sage should have a fenced yard to help tire her out, she loves exercise!!!!

She is working on manners and will try to get to people on walks so she should get into doggy training immediately. If you are looking for a dog that is full of life and would truly enjoy camping, hiking, jogging, and great games in the back yard, you will want to bring Sage into your life.
