All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Shy and sweet, this little abandoned beagle girl is all ready to find herself a loving family. Someone who loves the way beagles "talk", their ears flop in the wind when they run, and the way they wag their tails nearly nonstop. We have noticed that Lacey plays well with other dogs and cats.  She always wants to be a good girl, so if you love beagles, she would love to fit into your family. We are helping her along by getting her totally vetted and making sure she has all her shots and is ready to go when that right new family comes along.  Lacey's response to all this effort? ARRROOOOO!

UPDATE from foster mom: "Lacey is excellent with cats! I am really starting to see her come out of her shell. She gets short bursts of the zoomies especially first thing in the morning after coming in from outside. Then she is content to snooze the morning away. She is totally compliant when I give her the ear drops. She is a good girl indeed."

Another update from sweet Lacey's foster:    Lacey may be a beagle mix, but she isn't your typical beagle as far as her barking. She barks no more than my own dogs LOL! She is the sweetest, and I mean sweetest girl. She is very good with other dogs, cats and people. She will greet you with her tail wagging so hard her whole body goes back and forth as she's jumping on you to get attention. She is quite the laid-back girl, too, except when she decides it's time to do her "zoomies!" Boy, can she run fast with our other dog Oscar as she tries to keep up! She is also a very calm girl.  When I am ready want to watch TV in peace, she lays on the comfy chair or couch not making a sound until I get up.  Then she's off the chair and following me wherever I am going. She LOVES to be with her people and will bark if she's in another room, at times, as if she's saying "hey you forgot me!" She isn't destructive at all in the home.  I don't crate her at all when we leave the house, but sometimes she will go lay in a crate with the door open.   I do think it would be good for her to have another dog in the home because she will follow their lead.  A fenced yard is necessary.  She doesn't seem to want to stay out long when she goes out to potty. She does still have potty accidents, but not on a regular basis. Look I have 5 dogs and sometimes it's hard to know which one had the accident LOL! She is at times a timid girl especially when you want her to do something like go outside to potty and she doesn't want to go -- she will lay down in a submissie manner.  Lacey is not a digger.  She is great with my cats. She does sleep soundly in bed with hubby and I every night, so that would be a must in an adopter for me, too.  This little girl met my 1yr old grandson last week, and all she wanted to do was love on him. So, I do think she would be ok with young children. She does get underfoot, and I've almost fallen.  Lacey does not have a mean bone in her body and I mean none!! As I said, she is not the typical beagle at all from what I've experienced to date. Seriously, if I didn't have 5 dogs she would never leave my home!!!
