All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

About Hildy

  • Status: Adopted!

Hildy came to us as an abandoned dog and very pregnant. Due to her lack of care, most of her puppies died, though we tried so hard to save them, but two survived and she is being such a good mama to them. Soon they will be weaned and we are looking for the best home for her so she will know love and care. Her foster says "She is the sweetest dog and the best mama to her two beautiful pups." Her naturally wonderful gentle, happy temperament is showing through now that she is safe and warm and has food. She is going to make an outstanding family dog/companion for a very lucky person. As she is a hound, we will require a physical fence, so when she follows her excited nose on a scent, she will be kept safe. Can you see her playing in your backyard? Even better, how about long walks with you as your best buddy. She would be perfect for an active, person or family who like the outdoors. This good dog has had all her shots now and been given a healthy physical by our vet. She will be ready to go!

AN UPDATE FOR YOU FROM HER FOSTER:

Hildy is one of the sweetest hounds I’ve ever fostered.  She is good with my dogs, good with all visitors, super friendly and very curious.  She would be fine with kids, other dogs, but not sure about cats.

She does the hound dog bark but isn’t barky.  She will counter surf but it’s not that bad.  She is funny and playful.

Everyone loves her, she is a great dog.
