All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

UPDATE:

Ezekiel here , my foster momma calls me zekey or zeke. I came a long way to her home. I was afraid of everything but I am doing so much better!! Once I know you are safe (mom tells folks to ignore me but I get curious and want to be petted and have treats) then I am your best friend. I am house broke, get along with other dogs and even kitties! I sleep on my bed at night but like to lay on the sofa next to you to watch TVI only chew my toys.I may be frightened by little kids I have not been around them. I just want a home of my own. A nice home where I can be loved for who I am .I just need a chance. Could you be the one out there for me to love?

Zeke is easy going, happy and will adjust in most any environment.  He would love to be a companion to an individual, or be a family dog. He likes people, other dogs, and is so friendly that he was voted the shelter's favorite dog. He IS shy of new things at first. It takes him some time to feel that he is safe. The vacuum cleaner is not his friend just now, and then there was that bright, shiny cookie sheet that looked dangerous...Zeke already knows many commands, such as "sit" and "down", and it is so cute when he plops right down into his sit the minute a treat comes out. He is good on a leash, loves to ride in the car, and his favorite activity in the house is to be at your side for a head scratch. Oh, and did we mention he is already house trained?
Zeke also has us all guessing at what his genes might hold. We think some German Shepherd, but it also looks like there might be some greyhound hiding in there. Perhaps some Doberman? Go ahead, you guess, too! What we don't have to guess about is what a great dog he is. He would dearly love to come home to your house and show you all his good points. Hide the vacuum and cookie sheet for now!

P.S. Zeke says to tell you he is very fond of his dogbed, especially if you put it right next to your bed, where he can be next to you all night.

Zeke will not be placed with children due to his anxiousness around new people and he will need a fenced yard.
Zeke's early lack of socialization makes him very nervous around new people.. so patience will be needed and best to not place with young children for this reason....children can be loud and busy making for a stressful situation for this dog.

Recent update from Zeke's foster:

zeke has been here a year and is never crated...he is house broke only chews his toys and sleeps on the sofa when we are gone he sleeps on a dog bed next to mine all night His only problem is his fears and no recall for come He has to be in a fence or on a leash.....He seems to like woman better but loves my hubby and son. He is a special needs dog that will be worth all the patience you give him....He is just an easy dog if you give him time
