Cora needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.
About Cora | |
|
|
Cora is as sweet and friendly as they come. She loves everyone. Even cats are her friends. Her soft, silky fur is wonderful to stroke and her quiet ways make her a really great friend to have around. She is grateful for any attention and ready to go for simple walks with joy in her face and a wagging tail. An older girl, but healthy, her eyesight has become limited. This doesn't seem to bother her as she just explores her world more with her ears and nose. She is a happy dog and would love to spend her golden years with a friend, looking at the sunsets, feeling your hand on her head with pleasure, curling up next to you with a sigh, and being all yours. Her beautiful coat is fun to brush, her eyes are full of love that only an older dog knows and understands. She is a very special girl and would make you smile everyday.
AN UPDATE FROM CORA'S CARETAKER WE THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SEE;
We all fell in love with Cora today. The vet looked at her and said she is basically healthy. I took her outside for a walk, she stayed glued to my leg and then tried to get in my car, She wants a real home so badly. One of the techs brushed and bathed her, and she did really well. Cora is a little afraid of new situations and with her limited sight, we'd prefer to not place her in any home with young children.
NEWEST UPDATE FROM CORA'S FOSTER;
Cora is undoubtedly one of the sweetest older dogs we have had come through here. At first she is a little uneasy with new people because she is hard of seeing and hearing and from her past isn't sure she can trust all people. Once she gets to know you aren't going to harm her, she looks forward to her meals and walks, but most of all, her meals, she loves to eat. She asks for so little, some food in her bowl, a soft place to lie down, and love. Cora is content so sleep a lot of the day, go out for a few minutes of fresh air and to potty and most important eat her breakfast and dinner.
AND MORE...I am so happy to say I saw more of Cora's personality today. My 3 girls, Cora and I were in the backyard feeding the birds and just walking around in the nice sunshine. Miss Cora was prancing around with her tail in the air following me like such a proud little lady. She acted like she wanted to play with one of the the other dogs. It just warmed my heart to see her tail up and her smiling. Just more good new for her resume!!!
