All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Please take a longer look at me.  I am an extraordinary dog disguised as a little brown mutt.  I just love to lay with my people.  You need a foot warmer, I'm there.  How about a heating pad? Glad to accommodate. I will lay at the bottom of your bed at night, and I never make a peep.

My foster mom believes I must have belonged to somebody, because I know some really cute tricks, like dancing on my back legs for a treat. I am housebroken and love to play with my toys.  I play nicely with other dogs, even if they are bigger than me, and I know enough to leave cats alone.  Kids are great.  They drop food.

So don't let my plain jane looks fool you. I'm Superdog.

Cookie is young and full of hope. She is a happy, outgoing dog with a heart made for love and devotion, but with nobody to whom to give that precious gift. See the blurry tail in her picture? That's because she can't stop wagging! She would do best with an individual or a family that has an active lifestyle with her lab/cur heritage. She would be a wonderful jogging partner, would be great at hiking, camping, spending time at the lake or river, or even just going for long walks. With you at her side, the world would be perfect. Cookie is a joyful dog, bursting with life and health. She would show you the meaning of the word "grateful" every day of her life, looking up at you with her big brown eyes full of love, and being your guardian and friend for as long as her heart beats.

From the foster: She is a true lovebug and an angel!... needs some work on walking on a leash but she is so wonderful and will make an exellent new family member.

UPDATE; Cookie has charmed absolutely everyone who has met her, from drivers on her transport, to the whole veterineary staff where she got her check up. Her foster, too, has fallen under her spell. She says: "This is no ordinary dog.  I know I say that about all of them, but this dog is so tolerant and sweet that she deserves a really special home."
