All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Tyko is a sweet little shih tzu who is a young survivor of a puppy mill. He was never shown love or care until he was rescued and now all the wonderful world he had been missing is opening for him in front of his very eyes. Petting, attention, walks, a soft bed, all are things he never experienced. Since he was not used to human companionship, we sent him to the famous cell dog training program, where he could experience people and learn what it takes to be a great house dog. Don't know about the program? Let us tell you...dogs are given intensive training for months under professional supervision so that they can become the very best family dogs possible. He learned to be house broken and has been taught many commands, both verbal and nonverbal. He has been crate trained, obedience trained and socialized. Graduates of this program are exceptional dogs in every way. We figured a "leg up" would help him find his new home and what a nice dog he turned out to be. He graduated with his class and is all ready now to find his new home. With you?

PLEASE NOTE: Puppy mill rescues are not able to be placed in a home without dog experience (no first time dog owners); must not go to a home with young children (too much activity for the dog trying to "make it" in the outside world); and must go to a home where they will not be left for more than a four-hour stretch.
