Learn more about the Chihuahua.
All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.
About Chancey | |
|
|
Poor little Chancey, life was so good, and then his person passed away and he doesn't understand why he is now homeless. He wants so much to be someone's special guy. Although he is older, he is completely up to date on his shots, neutered, house trained, and healthy. He will enjoy nice walks with you, and quiet times together. If you want to watch sunsets with him, that sounds perfect to Chancey. His good nature will make him a wonderful companion. He knows all about love, and is ready to give his part and more.
SPECIAL NOTE: Chancey loves food and has become somewhat overweight. We are working on that. His current weight is way too much. His healthy weight will be about 8 lbs.
A MESSAGE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: I am learning more and more about Chancey every day. For a chi he has proven to be quite the gentleman. He isn't nippy about meeting new people, very social. He enjoys a good scratch behind his ear or belly as well. He walks well on a leash and does need the exercise as anyone can see. He is current on all shots, neutered, on heartworm prevention and frontline and is lots of fun. His new home will have to monitor his food intake, very few treats and he does beg and make him exercise. He weighs about 16 lbs. and should weigh only around 8 to 9. At 10 years of age it is crucial to get those extra pounds off now. He is totally housetrained, a pleasure as most little dogs aren't. He doesn't bark at the drop of a hat, only for food so far. He does like to play with the puppies and seems to have fun with doing that. He likes a soft toy to carry around but is not aggressive about his food or toys. He should only go to an adult household or a home with children that are over 12 years of age. He lived with an elderly person but did get visits from grandkids but at this stage in his life young children would prove too much.
