Peter G. needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.

Peter is such a good boy! He loves people and is very friendly with other dogs! He is so tremendous with other dogs that we use him as our "tester dog" when new dogs come in and we need to see how they are with other dogs. Peter is house broken, has very good manners and knows basic commands! He was adopted from us about 6 years ago when he was a very young dog... and spent almost his whole life with one family, until now. His family was moving into a situation where they couldn't take him, so he is back here. Peter was simply born to be a family dog. He does it all right! If you are looking for a companion for a current canine, you couldn't possibly find a better choice. If you are hoping for a best friend, "check" again. Peter is a ready made best friend. When you bring him home, it's going to feel like he has lived there all his life. He is so easy to love, and will love you right back with all of his heart. No drama with Peter, just a super good dog.
A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER:

He rode so nicely in the car. He was quiet and interested in the outside smells around him on our drive. Sometimes he would pop his head up front to get a better view, but then he would lay down or sit by the back passenger window.

He knows "sit". He wasn't interested in the treats I had, so I offered him a small piece of cheese. He got very excited about this.

He also got excited and jumped up a couple of times when I took out the leash and told him we were going for a "walk".

He's house trained. He's been left home alone (inside) for 8 hours, two to three times a week.

He lived with two children, ages 11 and 2. He played gently with them, would tolerate and ignore them. Excellent with kids.

He will get excited and bark when strangers came to the house, but he was not frightened and would welcome them.

He's very easy to live with, is loving and tolerant of children.
Since Peter can jump, he will need a fence that is at least 5ft high.

NEWS FLASH: We just had a DNA test run on Peter. Guess what! He has FOUR kinds of canine genes  inside his furry body. And they are, drum roll: Golden retriever, Shar-pei, Staffordshire terrier, Keeshond!
