Tuffy is the name he came with and he looks every bit a purebred Goenendael which is a Belgium Shepherd. He's beautiful, quiet, loving and playful. Tuffy came  from a senior lady who could no longer care for him. He has been updated on vaccinations and treated for Heartworm, once that's completed it's cycle, he will be neutered. Tuffy loves other dogs and happy to play with them anytime.. and his minmal interaction with very dog savvy cats was fine... but he so wants to be with a person.

Tuffy like many rescue dogs will need someone who is home a lot, hopefully another dog as well and willing to work with him to help him over all the changes he's gone through since losing his home.

He is fine with older kids and well behaved younger children and good with cats but he does not take well to a crate, but we will work with you on how to handle that.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: I have just been fortunate enough to bring this guy into my home! He is such a love, follows me around the house seeing if he can help-true sign of a shepherd always looking for a job. He is only about 2, completely housetrained, great with my 11 cats and 2 larger dogs. True he is very upset being alone but will sleep in the hall outside a partial closed bedroom door and we are working on getting him used to us being outside for 1/2 hour at a time without us, we will get there. Meanwhile he loves car rides and is good in the car. We want to start him on basic training, so far- come is good. Then we want to work his intellect and are building an agility course to train on. He is always willing, just doesn't know what is wanted from us yet. Come meet this guy, he will charm you, lick you then want a belly rub, he isn't shy!
