Many of us have been in rescue a long time, but we can say truthfully we have rarely seen a dog so near perfect as Ashby. He has a happy, friendly temperment. Calm and easy going, he is also playful when the situation arises. He is as happy to sit on the couch and watch some tv as he is to romp in the yard. He loves everyone, and is fine with older chldren. Very young children make him a bit nervous. He plays well with dogs of any size and has excellent canine manners. He also has perfect house manners. He is house trained and quiet in the house. He is perfect on a leash, loves car rides, and even fearlessly rode a Kawasaki with one of our volunteers. He is very intelligent and we believe would be able to learn nearly anything you might want him to learn. And he already knows a lot! He has mastered many basic commands, like "sit" and "down", but his personal favorite is "shake". He loves to offer you his paw and you need to say "How do you do" each time. He is a fantastic combo of Schnauzer and Wheaten Terrier...a little bigger than the average Schnauzer, a bit smaller than a Wheaten. Just right! And his eyelashes, oh my, so long that he can bat them at you like a real flirt. His little tail is carried straight up in the air, like a jaunty flagpole. This boy is going to make you smile every day.His foster says "Before I met Ashby, I didn't think dogs came this good!" And he could be all yours for every day of play, snuggles, and laughter. Oh yes, he loves to give kisses! Icing on the best dog cake!
