Animal Success Stories
We love getting updates from our adopters! This page is a collection of the photos and stories sent to us. As our website restricts us to only one photo and story for each dog, we have created a photo gallery here -

Fiona golden girl

Fiona is doing great! She has just been such a sweet dog for us, we love her so much. She jumps into bed with us at night for good night cuddles and then sleeps on the floor beside our bed. She jumps up in the morning for more cuddles, it's the best way to wake up! Tomorrow we have an in-home private visit with a dog trainer to get ready for the group classes that we start in a couple weeks.

Marley Girl

She is doing quite well and likes her several daily walks and outdoor romps in the yard! So far she seems to be doing well and is getting a LOT of belly and back rubs! Thanks again and she slept next to Abby last night to keep an eye on her! Too cute. Marna

Rallo

Through no fault of his own, Rallo found himself in a rural shelter, scared, alone, not knowing what would happen next. RORR recognized the potential in this sweet guy, and took him into rescue. Rallo, now Ralphie, was adopted by a wonderful woman, and is now doing great! He is paying it forward by now working as a therapy dog. Ralphie has spent the last few weeks working with the boys from the Fairfax County boys probation home and the kids from a Fairfax County court ordered program called Shelter Care. He has turned out to be an incredible therapy dog--very approachable and affectionate but not overwhelming. Ralphie is quite the ambassadog!! Every one of the boys Ralphie worked with signed a pledge to never buy, breed or abuse a companion animal! One of the boys had been attacked by a dog and was very afraid of dogs. At the end of 4 weeks together, he wrote the following poem: Roses are red, violets are blue, I love dogs, and so do you. Sadly, 6 get killed each minute, let's stop this insanity, it's reached it's limit Instead of online, lets get a dog in the the shelter that would make life a whole lot better Dogs are just like me and you they play, have emotions and love just like we do Saving dogs for me is something new it's something you should try out too Let's make a pet's life even better but we're going to have to team up and work together and let's keep it that way forever and ever.

Ava the Pyr

So far she is a great girl. We have a bed for her but she chooses to lie on the floors. She has also chosen the floor beside our bed on my husbands side to sleep. I believe she will be happy here with Lucy and Winston. When the weather is right we take them with us in the vehicles. She loves to ride with her nose stuck out the window. She is also letting us know if someone is walking by the driveway. It sets off a rush to the door by the other two dogs, even if they have no idea what's going on. Thanks again, Deb.

Diego

He's doing very well. His new name is Raleigh. He has grown and probably needs to lose a little weight. he loves going outside and exploring in our yard and on walks. We just got home from a week at the beach. This is him napping. He got a short haircut for the beach! When longer, his coat gets curly. He looks like a teddy bear. Notice his new collar ...flags from the beach. He is loving life! ~ Mary, Michael and Raleigh
