Mulligan
Mulligan is settling in nicely. He is a very friendly and spunky guy. Every morning we take an hour walk in the park next door. We work on his commands and he is getting to know some of the dogs who walk there. We have not started obedience class but will soon. He is full of energy and I need some help in handling him. Today we went on a three hour hike. He learned how to cross shallow streams. In the beginning he was nervous of the water but by the end of the day he was a pro. I believe his favorite thing may be chasing squirrels up the maple tree in the backyard. He also loves giant bones. So far his stools have been fine and I think he is less itchy as well. Let me know if I may send an update to his handler, his letter was very useful for us. Thanks and I will keep you posted.
Sugar Magnolia
Hi there,
I'm writing to let you know how happy we are with our adopted dog Twix; we got her from RORR through Marsha Brogdan at The Missing Link, this past February. I also would like to let people know that adopting an older dog is just as wonderful as getting a new puppy!
My husband and I were ready and excited to add a dog to our household and we knew we wanted to adopt one. Only we didn't want to go through the challenges of raising a new puppy - and were aware of all the older dogs that need homes. We did our homework and selected a dog that would meet our active lifestyle; we adopted one year old Twix and all of us couldn't be happier! She's a complete love bug, quick-witted, and a great source of fun! To be fair, even older dogs present challenges when they find themselves in a new home. Twix adapted to our household quickly but initially experienced separation anxiety when we would leave her alone in the house to run a quick errand, for example. We worked to make her feel safe in her new environment by providing trust through obedience lessons, a more stable routine, more structure and patience. After several months she became more relaxed and today is perfectly comfortable in her new home.
Thank you for the good work that you do in helping these dogs find families to care for them. I'll send along a few pictures under separate email feel free to share them along with our success story in adopting Twix!

Charlie
Good afternoon:
We just wanted to send a thank you to everyone that helped organize the adoption of Charlie. He was listed through Kind Hands 4 Paws, but Reach Out Rescue reviewed the application and organized our home visit. We met with volunteer (I think her name was Marlene or Marlaina) and her husband for our home visit. Unfortunately, I do not have contact information for them, I misplaced their number. We really appreciate all your efforts and coordination to make these adoptions a success. Please pass along our thank yous to everyone involved. I attached two pictures. The first one is of our son, Lucas on our way home with Charlie. The second one is with Charlie and his best buddy Louie. We've had Charlie for about 3 weeks and he settled in nicely despite his blindness from PRA. Again, thank you so much for your time and efforts....it is very much appreciated!
