Harley
Our family adopted Harley (aka "Honey") from RORR on August 11, 2014 after our beloved yellow lab , Woodrow, passed away after 16 1/2 yrs. Harley was a senior dog estimated to be somewhere between 10-13 yrs old. He had some cardiac issues and arthritis, but settled immediately into the family, enjoying his younger canine brothers from a distance and bonding with his senior feline brother . Unfortunately, Harley's condition began to deteriorate after about a year, and he passed away on March 12th. He is buried next to Woodrow at the Baltimore Humane Society Memorial Gardens Pet cemmetary. I noticed the "Rainbow Bridge" ( we read this at Harley and Woodrow's funeral ) page on your website and would like to know how to post Harley's picture there. I saw the "memorial donation" instructions which of course I will do, but it wasn't clear if that includes uploading the picture and information.

Harrison
Sometimes these little ones come to us with so much baggage both emotional and physical that it's beyond our ability to help them become "adoptable".. so our loving fosters provide what they can while they can and help them to the bridge. Sadly, Harrison was one of them and he is now happy and at peace and no more suffering!

Helen
Helen was a senior who found herself in a shelter in her final days. While there are misconceptions about those that work in shelters, it's a tough job and those that do it have our greatest respect. This is just one story of a special old lady "Helen", that spent her final days in a shelter. The old girl was loved and her life was valued, I wish that we could have found something for her sooner. I have to believe in "meant to be." I was glad to be with her when the vet euthanized her, it was very peaceful. She started vomiting on Sunday, took her to the vet on Monday, did xrays, lab work etc and started treament. Tuesday she was no better so she went back and has been there on IV's and IV meds since. She declined and was suffering, she wasn't responding at all to treatment. I just went to be with her to be put to sleep. She was a wondeful girl and I know her spirit will be with us. Thank you so much for all you did to try to find her someone to love in her last days. We loved her very much and I think she new that. Vicki

Henry
Dorothea Stierhoff Attachments 11:11 AM (3 hours ago) to rorrcanine, me In March 2012, I adopted Henry from RORR. He was nine years old but so full of life. He became a favorite in my neighborhood. The young boys would see me out walking him and would cry out "Henry" and come running over. His gentleness helped several young girls who could barely see over his back learn to love big dogs. In the past couple of years he developed bad arthritis. We controlled it with vitamins and medications but it became progressively worse making it very hard for him to walk. Yesterday he had a quiet, peaceful passing. I am so glad that I have Boppy (Benji) who I adopted from RORR in December 2016. It makes it easier and the house isn't so empty. I will always be glad that I had this sweet dog in my life. Dorothea

Holly
It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you our little girl HOLLY who was waiting to come to RORR from GA has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. She became very ill last night and when taken to the vet tested positive for Parvo -- the vet recommended letting her go because this horrible disease had taken over completely. Please know she was loved by those who were taking very good care of her for us. So she knew love until the end. RIP sweet girl!
